- Press Convert and download the EPUB.
What the converter does
In Text mode the tool reads the text of every page, joins broken lines into paragraphs, removes hyphenation at line ends, drops repeated headers, footers and page numbers, finds headings and splits the book into chapters using the PDF bookmarks or the headings it detects. Images, tables and multi-column layouts are not carried over, so for a magazine or a scanned book use the Page images mode.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is processed in your browser on your own device, so your files never reach our servers.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no sign-up and no watermarks.
Which mode should I choose?
Text suits books and articles: the text reflows to the screen, so you can change the font size and read comfortably on a phone. Page images keeps the exact look of every page and suits scans, comics and documents with a complex layout, but the pages do not reflow.
Why does the layout differ from the PDF?
EPUB is a reflowable format, so fixed layout, columns, tables and images are not kept in Text mode. Choose Page images if the exact look matters.
My PDF is a scan and the result is empty. What should I do?
A scan contains pictures, not text. Choose the Page images mode, or recognize the text first with the OCR tool.
Will the file open on Kindle and other readers?
EPUB opens in Apple Books, Google Play Books, Kobo, PocketBook and most reading apps. For Kindle, send the file with Amazon’s Send to Kindle.
Is there a size limit?
Files up to 100 MB. Text mode handles up to 2000 pages, Page images mode up to 300 pages.
