PDF reader: highlights and notes

Add a PDF and it becomes a book. Select lines and mark them in different colors, attach notes, and come back later: the book, your notes and the page you stopped on are kept on this device.

Your files are never uploaded to a server. Everything runs on your device.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF or drop it on the page. It appears on your shelf.
  2. Select text and pick a color, or choose a highlighter color first and just select lines. Tap a highlight to add a note or change its color.
  3. Open the Notes panel to see everything in order, jump to a page or export your notes as a file.
  4. Close the page whenever you like. Next time open the book from your library and continue where you stopped.

FAQ

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The book and your notes are stored in your browser on this device and are never sent to a server.

Will my notes stay after I close the page?

Yes. The PDF, your highlights, notes and the last page are saved automatically in the browser storage. They disappear only if you remove the book or clear the site data of your browser.

Can I back up my notes?

Yes. In the Notes panel use Export notes to download all quotes and notes as a text file.

Does it change the original PDF?

No. Highlights are stored separately and drawn on top of the page. The original file stays untouched.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

You can read them and turn pages, but text cannot be selected in a scan. Run it through the OCR tool first.

Is it free?

Yes, free, with no sign-up.
